Gemma Recovery Group is especially cognizant of the crucial role helping recovery professionals play at all stages of the recovery process. That’s why we work so closely with our clients’ therapists, doctors, and counselors on an ongoing basis.
One of the things that makes the relationship between the client and the recovery companion/coach so effective is that – ideally – we actually start to work with the client while he/she is still in treatment. Perhaps we did the intervention, perhaps not. Either way, hopefully the counselor has release to speak with our case managers to create a coherent, realistic plan utilizing tried and true resources we have successfully used in the client’s home area.
This would include – potentially – an intensive outpatient program (IOP) or some other type of support community, an addiction or mental health therapist, and possibly a psychiatrist. Every case and every person is different, of course, depending on a variety of considerations.
Once the client’s after-care plan is in place, Gemma Recovery Group gets the best results when there is an open dialogue among ALL recovery professionals of the treatment team. This dialogue is a critical tool that empowers the client to get well more quickly – and to reach their goals exponentially faster. The client then has a small “village” comprised of people collaborating with one another and working through transparency to identify potential triggers and help navigate whatever red flags show up.
